Trustees

Hillary Rayment

Chairperson

My name is Hillary Rayment and I am the Chairperson.

Some of you may already know me as I taught at Sheringham Primary school from 1975, setting up two nurseries and the after-school club there. I have spent my life dedicated to working with young children and their families.

Towards the end of my career, I became an Early Years Support Teacher and supported many Pre Schools in North Norfolk giving advice and guidance to help them develop their practice.

I also help run Noah’s Ark Parent and Toddler group at St Peter’s Church and it gives me great pleasure to watch the children grow and begin to socialise with one another.

Constance Tyce

Trustee

I have been a Trustee at Ladybird for many years. I am retired but still spend a lot of time in schools and nurseries. At present I am a Director of the Synergy Multi Academy Trust who is responsible for 15 Primary Schools in North Norfolk.

Before I retired, I taught at Sheringham Primary School for over 25 years. I then became a Primary Adviser across Norfolk and spent much of my time supporting teachers and practitioners in the Early Years.

I love being involved at Ladybird and seeing how the nursery grows from strength to strength.

Philip Moy

Trustee

I am a locally based Chartered Accountant and have spent my working life helping small and medium sized businesses. I have three sons who all took their early steps in life at Ladybird and when some years later, I was invited to become a trustee, I was delighted to accept.

I take a particular interest in the finances of the charity and Chair many of our meetings.

Outside of work and Ladybird, I am a keen sportsman, I am a member of Sheringham Golf Club and Sheringham Cricket Club, as well as being a regular attendee at Sheringham and Cromer 41 Club.

Evelyn Meakin

Trustee

Ladybird has played a big part in my life for many years initially setting up the Wykeham Playgroup in our own home in 1977 for 16 children. After 5 years we amalgamated with another group renting space at the Baptist Church and became the Ladybird Playgroup. Following another move to the Teen and Twenty and much fundraising we eventually built our own premises which is home for the amazing Nursery we have today.

It is a privilege to continue being part of the team in my role as Trustee.

Barry Starling

Trustee

I was born and bred in Sheringham.

I trained as an accountant with a local firm before joining the family business of Starlings. I have been associated with many business organisations including the National Federation of Retail Newsagents and the Sheringham Chamber of Trade.

I am a member of St Andrew’s Methodist Church, Sheringham.

My sporting interests include playing badminton, cricket, hockey, squash, snooker, tennis, table tennis and indoor and outdoor bowls. I am also an avid fan of Norwich City Football Club!

I have been a Trustee of Ladybird since 2015. My late wife, Jackie, had been employed at the nursery, and my two daughters, now grown up, attended Ladybird.
